Webster defines faith as "complete trust, confidence, or reliance; unquestioning belief that does not require proof or evidence". Some people say faith stands for "Forsaking All, I Trust Him". These are both fine and good, but faith is much more than this.

Romans 5:1-4 says:
1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope:

This means that if we have faith in God, He will give us peace of mind in all aspects of life. True faith is really exposed in troubled times. Verse 3 says to glory in times of tribulations for this will teach us patience. It doesn’t matter what your situation is; medical illness, financial difficulties, family situations, emotional problems, or anything else. Why worry needlessly about things when you can simply take all of your burdens to the Lord and leave them there. Just forget about them, God will take care of it. Be strong in your faith and be patient, knowing that God will work things out in His time, not yours.

Try this a few times and you’ll see that it really does work (this is the experience part). You’ll be happier and those around you will be happier too. And pretty soon, those burdens will become a small bump in the road that might slow you down a bit, but will bring you closer to God. Just remember, peace is not the absence of conflict, but the ability to cope with it.

Faithfully,
The Disciple

P.S.
Don’t forget to thank Him.
