The KJV-NIV Bible Comparison Chart

Most people who use the newer translations say they read them because they are easier to read, and they believe their new translation of the Bible is the same as the Authorized King James Version, just without the "thee's and thou's". As you will see by the following chart, more has been left out of them than just the "thee's and thou's". In fact, 16 entire verses were completely omitted from the NIV.

For the sake of time and space we will only be dealing with the NIV in this chart. However, what you read here, for the most part, applies to the other translations as well. There are literally hundreds of verses that could have been shown, so this chart is by no means complete.

Matt. 25:13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh. Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.

Luke 2:33 And Joseph and his mother marveled at those things which were spoken of him. The child's father and mother marveled at what was said about him. (God is Jesus' Father! This denies the Virgin Birth.)
Luke 4:4 And Jesus answered him, saying, "It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God." Jesus answered, "It is written: Man does not live on bread alone."
Luke 4:8 And Jesus answered and said unto him, "Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and Him only shalt thou serve." Jesus answered, "It is written: Worship the Lord your God and serve him only."

Rom. 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.
I Cor. 7:5 Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency. Do not deprive each other except by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer.

As you have seen, much more has been left out (or changed) of the NIV than "thou, thee, and thine." Now you must decide, is it better to have a Bible that is so called "easier to read" or a Bible that contains all of the Words of God?
